Community and direct-service foundations
Christopher’s early work in HIV services, housing, behavioral health, and substance-use programs established an enduring lesson: individual challenges cannot be separated from relationships, neighborhood, identity, poverty, trauma, health, public policy, or access to trustworthy institutions.
Progressive nonprofit leadership
At MCCNY and MCCNY Charities, responsibility expanded across LGBTQ+ services, behavioral health, homelessness, housing, food access, youth programming, staff supervision, quality assurance, partnerships, and nonprofit operations.
National capacity building
At the National Harm Reduction Coalition, Christopher led national training, curriculum development, technical assistance, and organizational change across harm reduction, overdose prevention, HIV/HCV, drug-user health, and LGBTQ responsiveness.
Clinical social work and community inquiry
Graduate field practice at the Pride Center of Staten Island added affirming individual and couples work, assessment, treatment and safety planning, DBT-informed groups, and community needs assessment.
Public child welfare
Since 2018, ACS practice has included complex investigations, specialized child-sexual-abuse work, multidisciplinary Child Advocacy Center response, supervisory experience, and current Social Work Coordinator responsibilities at the Bronx CAC.
Practitioner-scholar identity
Christopher’s Ph.D. research examined harm-reduction training for social workers serving LGBTQ clients with substance-use disorders. His current doctoral work extends this approach toward reflective supervision, secondary traumatic stress, leadership, and organizational responsibility.
